Getting ready for BIM!
BIM (Building Information Modeling) practices have seen a rapid development these last few years. As the main driver of digital transformation in the built environment, its benefits go far beyond process efficiency and 3D modeling. More than a technology, BIM is a methodology that has the potential to profoundly transform the industry by making it more collaborative, predictive, and data-enabled. Anticipating these changes, Clestra Asia is working to make its entire product range and teams BIM-ready by 2024.
The development of the BIM practice at Clestra comes with the understanding of the obvious synergies between Modular Construction and digitalization that could be exploited. To drive the adoption of interior modular systems further for office interior fit-outs projects, we decided to model all our product families into BIM-compatible format (Revit in that case) to build a strong expertise in that area. The objectives are three-fold:
- Sharing our product models with designers and architects during pre-planning stages. This way, design teams are free to study the feasibility of the layout and verify space allowances with real product dimensions and limitations.
- Collaborating throughout a common data environment (CDE) under supervision from BIM Managers. It allows full interoperability across a project and encourage the transfer of advanced information between all stakeholders.
- Accelerating our digital transformation and continuously improving our processes. BIM is a powerful lever for our teams to solve complex design issues with our factories and find the best technical solutions.
Moving on, our entire range of modular solutions will be made available in BIM-compatible format to increase our interoperability and readiness for BIM-related requests. All our models are up to LOD300 standards and compatible with REVIT 2018 and above. With more than 15 people within Clestra Asia trained to BIM processes, we are able to address all your challenges and actively collaborate to your advanced projects.
